Opportunities in Renewable Wind Power to Be Detailed in Houston in November at Infocast Meeting

The renewable wind power business is on a major growth trajectory, with a looming carbon regime and pending FERC action on transmission access adding impetus to the upward curve. Capitalizing on these market trends will be the focus of "Wind Power Development Tutorial," a major industry building event to be held November 28-30, 2007.

The tutorial will take place in Texas, the nation's largest and most dynamic wind market, and will offer experience-based insights and information that can be applied across the country by astute market players. The tutorial will analyze the latest developments, market opportunities, segments, models and barriers in wind, guiding participants through the finance, structuring and development process in a systematic, step-by-step fashion.

 Up to the minute presentations by industry experts will explain:     Wind power business models, deal structures and project financing     Wind and project performance risk assessment     Turbine selection and tips for negotiating turbine purchase agreements     Permitting wind energy facilities     Transmission access     Pricing and negotiating power purchase agreements     Estimating costs     Designing a media and community relations strategy     Structuring a project to maximize production tax credits (PTCs)     Tools and techniques for asset valuation of wind plants     Wind project finance, B loan debt and innovative financing vehicles 

The pre-tutorial workshop "Impacts of CREZ on Transmission Build-out and Wind Power Opportunities in the Texas Market" will provide an in depth analysis of the impacts of CREZ on the market. Within Texas, there is now an estimated 25,000 to 28,000 megawatts of wind capacity up for grabs, with the Transmission Optimization Study, which will lay out the technical parameters for interconnection, due by January, 2008. This meeting will not only present methods for taking advantage of the opportunities within the state, but will also offer valuable information that can be used in the development of wind projects across the country.
