WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Bosch Thermotechnology division today announced the addition of Bosch and Buderus solar thermal water heating systems and components for both residential and commercial customers in the U.S. Final product certification for these solar thermal water heating systems is nearing completion and product will be offered by Bosch Thermotechnology Corporation in early 2008.
In his address at a forum sponsored by the National Commission on Energy Policy and the International Council on Clean Transportation, Peter Marks, chairman, president and CEO, Robert Bosch LLC stated, "Bosch is committed to developing innovative, renewable energy technologies that save energy, reduce CO2 emissions and contribute to energy independence. Entering the U.S. market with solar thermal water heating systems is an important step in further demonstrating this commitment."
Several renewable energy technologies can be seen firsthand at Solar Decathlon 2007, which takes place on the National Mall in Washington D.C., October 12 - 20, 2007. Bosch Thermotechnology is a lead sponsor of the team from the Darmstadt Technical University in Germany. The Darmstadt team utilizes Buderus solar thermal flat plate collectors that use the sun's energy to heat water.
Bosch and Buderus solar thermal heating systems use state of the art technology to effectively capture the sun's energy to heat and store hot water for residential and commercial applications. The Bosch solar flat plate collectors utilize innovative absorber plate designs and collector construction to maximize energy efficiency even on cloudy days. Bosch solar collectors can be seamlessly integrated with Bosch high efficiency solar water storage tanks, pump stations and controllers providing contractors with an intelligent, easy-to-install solar water heating solution.
The solar flat plate collectors together with the systems and components join an existing line of renewable energy technologies from Bosch. Additionally, Bosch has successfully launched a number of other technologies such as gear units for wind turbines and geothermal heat pumps for cooling and heating. Condensing boilers and tankless water heaters further complement the company's growing energy-efficient product portfolio.
