MOSCOW. Oct 1 (Interfax) – Russia is ready for competitive struggle on world markets and won’t let anyone twist its arms, leader of the United Russia party Boris Gryzlov said in his speech at United Russia’s congress in Moscow on Monday.

“We won’t let anyone intimidate us either through the WTO or any other way because we are Russia,” Gryzlov said.

He admitted that “someone is not happy to see Russia on the world market”.

“For two decades many have striven to get disaccustomed to Russia’s presence and the need to take its legitimate interests into account, forget that it is capable of more than just selling cheap oil,” the United Russia leader said.

“It’s hard to grow accustomed [to this] again. One can feel it in newspaper articles, statements and attempts to bloc very important projectsBut they can’t alter a simple fact, namely that Russia is returning,” Gryzlov said.

“Our competitors will not welcome our activity Just look at how the WTO talks are proceeding Attempts are being made to twist Russia’s arms. Some discriminatory conditions incompatible with our national interests are being put forward. Russia should be prepared for that, should learn to act effectively in the geo-economic space,” the United Russia leader said.
