SSE Profits Boost

SCOTTISH Southern Energy expects to beat full-year profit forecasts and revealed plans to invest Pounds 600m in greener power.
Analysts forecast SSE to post pretax profits of about Pounds 1.18bn. SSE (down 9p at 1502p) expects to complete its environmental investment programme by the end of the decade.
It includes carbon capture technologies, wind and wave energy farms.
It also signed an agreement to merge its Renewable Technology Ventures business with marine energy conversion company Aquamarine Power to create a bigger wave power company.
