The Sales Revenue of the Chinese Food Manufacturing Industry Amounted to RMB 457.069 Billion in 2006

The sales revenue of the food manufacturing industry amounted to RMB 457.069 billion in 2006, up by 25.46% y-o-y; the total profit was RMB 26.855 billion, rising 27.76% y-o-y; the sales revenue of the beverage manufacturing industry reached RMB 389.113 billion, increasing 27.61% compared to previous year, and its total profit was RMB 29.217 billion, up by 31.63% y-o-y. The growth rate of the beverage manufacturing industry was a bit higher compared to the food manufacturing industry. From January to February of 2007, the sales revenue of the food manufacturing industry was RMB 77.79 billion, and its total profit was RMB 4.816 billion; the sales revenue of the beverage manufacturing industry was RMB 69.314 billion, and its total profit was RMB 6.707 billion.
The distilled spirit output amounted to 4.1106 million tons in 2006, up 18.04% y-o-y. The accumulated sales revenue of large-scaled enterprises of the distilled spirit industry all over China amounted to RMB 9.714 billion, rising 31.08% y-o-y, which was far higher than the growth rate of its output. Presently, the spirit industry is developing towards high-end, and the price has increased; the price of distilled spirit of large-scaled enterprises in China in 2003 was RMB 16000 per ton, but in 2006, it rose to RMB 23600, so product upgrade trend of the distilled spirit industry is becoming clear.
