Range Resources Announces Operating Unit Name Changes
RANGE RESOURCES CORPORATION (NYSE: RRC) today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Great Lakes Energy Partners, L.L.C., has changed its name to Range Resources — Appalachia, LLC. Range Resources — Appalachia controls approximately 2.5 million net acres of leasehold in the Appalachian Basin and operates more than 11,000 wells in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia and New York.
In addition, Pine Mountain Oil and Gas, Inc., also a wholly owned subsidiary, which controls in excess of 300,000 net acres and owns interests in more than 1,500 wells in Virginia and West Virginia, has changed its name to Range Resources — Pine Mountain, Inc.
Commenting on the announcement, John Pinkerton, Range’s President and CEO, said, “The majority of our wells were being drilled in the Appalachian Basin under the auspices of various operating entities. Bringing all the entities together under the Range name is intended to eliminate confusion and simplify our business.”
