The lawyer of Georgia’s former defence minister has asked the prosecutor-general to question Okruashvili in connection with accusations he levelled against the Georgian president, Kavkas- Press has reported.

“We demand that Okruashvili be immediately questioned in connection with the accusations he made public on the ‘Ghia Eteri’ programme,” Kavkas-Press quoted Eka Beselia as saying on 5 October.

Okruashvili was detained on 27 September a few days after he announced the creation of a new opposition movement For a United Georgia and voiced serious accusations against President Mikheil Saakashvili.
