LINCOLN, Neb., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless, the wireless leader in customer loyalty and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, opened its newest Customer Service Center in Lincoln, Neb., today, receiving its first incoming customer call. The $33 million, 112,800 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility is located at the University of Nebraska Technology Park, 4600 Innovation Drive.
The Lincoln Customer Service Center is the company's first in the five-state Great Plains Region (which includes Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Iowa). The center will provide support for the region's customers -- as well as for customers in other parts of the Midwest Area -- asking questions on billing, price plan changes, voice and data products and equipment. Other customer service centers currently supporting the Midwest Area are located in Cranberry Woods, Pa.; Dublin, Ohio; Elgin, Ill.; Murfreesboro, Tenn.; St. Louis, Mo.; Southfield, Mich; and Warrendale, Pa.
Bonnie A. Edwards, director of the Lincoln Customer Service Center, says the center currently has 113 employees, not including a new customer service representative class that begins work today with training classes. The company will continue hiring new staff over the next two years for an employee base of 800 when the center is fully staffed.
