TXU Energy Offers Renewable Energy Products to Small and Medium Business Customers

DALLAS, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- TXU Energy today announced that small and medium business customers throughout Texas now have the opportunity to choose among new environmentally friendly renewable energy products. Offering customers additional opportunities to purchase renewable energy is one of the many ways that TXU Energy will fulfill its commitment to have a greater environmental focus.

Beginning today, TXU Energy is offering small and medium business customers the TXU Energy Texas EarthWise(SM) and the TXU Energy Texas EarthWise 100(SM) service plans. The TXU Energy Texas EarthWise 100 service plan provides customers a 100 percent renewable power option that holds electricity prices fixed at a flat, non-seasonal price. The TXU Energy Texas EarthWise service plan offers a lower fixed, non-seasonal price, with 25 percent of the power coming from renewable sources. These renewable pricing plans are part of the TXU Energy Power Choice SM family of products and are being offered in contracts of one-, two- or three-year duration.

Unlike some competing renewable energy products, all the environmental benefits of the TXU Energy Texas EarthWise plans directly benefit Texans. All of the new plans' renewable electricity is generated from Texas-based renewable sources, benefiting the Texas environment and helping to develop more renewable energy in the state. Texas is the nation's largest producer of wind-generated electricity, and TXU Corp.'s subsidiaries are the largest purchasers of wind power in the state, and among the largest in the nation.
