Verdiem Adds Nearly 30 New Customers in The Public and Private Sectors Worldwide

October 17, 2007

Verdiem, the leading developer of power management software for PC networks, today announced that nearly 30 new customers in the public and private sectors have selected the company’s SURVEYOR software to help eliminate energy waste.

Verdiem’s new customers represent an additional 50,000 SURVEYOR licenses, raising the total number of PCs saving energy with SURVEYOR to more than 450,000. The notable additions to Verdiem’s customer roster include: Turner Properties (a division of Time Warner), Random House, Clear Channel Radio San Francisco, California Department of Technology Services, California Department of Food and Agriculture, King County (Washington state), British law firm Irwin Mitchell, and NTT Europe Ltd.

Making a Difference on the Balance Sheet — and for the Environment

“More and more companies, communities and organizations want to measure and manage their global IT carbon footprint, and we offer the most innovative and accessible energy efficiency solution for PC networks in the market,” said Kevin Klustner, chief executive officer of Verdiem. “People are realizing that SURVEYOR is a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy first step for IT departments to make a difference on the balance sheet and for the environment.”

Over the course of the next year, Verdiem’s customer base will cumulatively rack up over 482 million kWh in electricity savings, which equates to more than $48 million saved and a reduction of greenhouse gas emissions equal to taking more than 59,000 passenger cars off the road for an entire year, or conserving 31,481,786 gallons of gasoline.

Research Quantifies PC Power Consumption in the Office

Studies also show that PCs and monitors use as much as 14 percent of all power consumed in office environments. By using Verdiem’s SURVEYOR, organizations can centrally manage the sleep, shut down and wake cycles to eliminate PC power waste and reduce spending on energy.

Signaling support for these energy efficiency efforts, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and six other investors provided Verdiem with $8.33 million in financing last July.
