WHAT: The Gas Company will perform free energy-efficient home improvements on five Boyle Heights homes that will help homeowners save energy and help reduce winter gas bills. WHY: The Gas Company is alerting customers about a no-cost program available to eligible, income-qualified customers that provides energy-saving home improvements and repair or replacement of non-working or hazardous natural gas furnaces to help customers reduce energy consumption and save money . These services are offered through The Gas Company's Direct Assistance Program. WHEN: Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 - Availability 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. WHERE: Customer home (other homes also open for tours) 625 Orme Ave. Los Angeles VISUALS: Crews will replace doors, add weatherstripping to doors and windows, and install low-flow showerheads and other energy-saving measures.
