NASA’s “Can You See It Now?” Campaign Enables Technology Partnerships
GREENBELT, Md., Sept. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. is now offering its advanced optical technologies for licensing and partnership opportunities.
NASA’s Innovative Partnerships Program Office is making available wavefront sensing and adaptive optics technologies, procedures, and lab equipment to private industry through its “Can you See it Now?” Campaign. All of the technologies associated with the campaign are available for licensing and can be found at http://ipp.gsfc.nasa.gov/wavefront.
Originally developed for the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes, these Goddard technologies have potential utility to promote advances in microscopy, LASIK and refractive eye surgery, biometric imaging, advanced cameras and sensors, and optical communication systems among many others.
NASA Goddard has more than hardware and software solutions; it also has capabilities. For firms seeking to actively develop adaptive optics systems, Goddard brings a set of proven software, components and design tools as well as a team of engineers able to adapt, extend and support these technology developments. Collaborations with NASA Goddard can allow the transition from the lab to marketplace to be accelerated by leveraging NASA know-how.
