Woodstock Furniture Outlet’s Energy Efficient Move Shines Light on Georgia Businesses

September 16, 2011

ACWORTH, Ga., Sept. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Recently, Woodstock Furniture Outlet transferred to a new “greener” lighting system that not only protects the environment, but also helps local Georgia businesses and consumers alike.

After Brian Aaron, whose family owns Woodstock Furniture Outlet, met with the Intelligent Energy Optimizers’ President & CEO, Nadav Sivan, it became an obvious decision for Woodstock to switch to a more cost and energy effective lighting scheme. By switching to the “Optieo” lighting, they were able to conserve 35-40% more energy in each of their two locations. The new lighting would leave a far smaller carbon footprint on the environment and also save the company a substantial amount of money per month on utilities. “The benefits of being more energy efficient are endless,” stated Woodstock Furniture Outlet VP Brian Aaron. “The process was quick and easy. We highly encourage other businesses to do the same.”

“With the help of Grace Fricks, President & CEO of Georgia Green Loans, we were able to get an energy efficiency loan and quickly discovered we could recoup the cost in no time. The savings in energy practically pay for themselves years before the loan term expires,” said Aaron. After contacting their local energy representative, Christine Mullinax from Cobb EMC, a free energy audit was conducted to assess energy consumption and find the best option for savings. The money saved can be spent to increase wages, employment opportunities, and even expand business. From the lighting fixtures to the lending institution, all parties involved in the energy efficient move are Georgia companies benefiting the community and promoting Georgians helping Georgians.

Brian has stated that customers also notice the change in lighting and that the furniture sold in his store looks more true to color with the new lighting schematics. “It’s a win-win. We’re saving money and the customers are happy. We’re also helping other Georgians protect the environment and save money too by encouraging them to do the same thing we did. ”

Woodstock Furniture Outlet has been in business since 1988 and their core values have always focused on creating a great environment for their customers and employees. Their success in the furniture business has led to the opening of a second location in Hiram, GA.
