END OF IRAQ WAR: Fattah Thanks the President for Keeping His Word
Congressman Chaka Fattah releases this statement following the Administration’s announcement on Iraq.
WASHINGTON, Oct. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — “President Obama has been consistent with his campaign promise on Iraq. He said he would end the war responsibly and bring our troops home. When he took office there were roughly 150,000 U.S. troops serving in Iraq. By the end of this year, all of our troops will be home. The President kept his word.”
“I want to thank our men and women in uniform for their service and thank their families for their sacrifice. We remember those who paid the ultimate price. America will honor its commitment to our veterans by ensuring they receive the medical and financial benefits they were promised. Welcome home!”
In 2002, Congressman Fattah issued one of the 133 votes in the U.S. House of Representatives against the war in Iraq.
