Tecogen Sells Chiller for Australian Office Building
WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Tecogen Inc. today announced that it has sold a Tecochill “RT Series” air-cooled natural gas engine-driven chiller to an Australian engineering firm who will be installing it for a building owner in Canberra, Australia.
Tecochill’s “RT Series” chillers produce chilled water without the need for cooling towers, and are installed outdoors for ambient air cooling of the condenser. Like other Tecochill models, the “RT Series” utilizes environmentally refrigerant. This unit also offers an overall COP (coefficient of performance) that’s the highest of any available air-cooled gas chiller. And by recovering the optional high-temperature engine waste heat available (up to 175,000 Btu/hr in the form of 160 degrees F hot water), customers can boost their efficiencies even higher.
This chiller will help the office building reduce air conditioning costs – a significant part of its operating budget. Saving money on operating costs is critical for building owners, to help them stay competitive in challenging economic times.
Tecogen manufactures highly efficient, ultra-clean Combined Heat and Power products including natural gas engine-driven cogeneration and air conditioning systems for industrial and commercial use. Tecogen has an installed base of more than 2,100 units, supported by an established network of engineering, sales, and service personnel across the United States.
