Cloth Diaper Author and Advocate, Kelly Wels, Kicks Off ‘It’s Easy to Use Cloth Diapers’ Campaign
SOUTH PARIS, Maine, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Kelly Wels’s award-winning book about cloth diapering, “Changing Diapers,” is helping to change stereotypes and misconceptions about cloth diapering every day. One of the biggest misconceptions Wels says she is trying to dispel is that many parents think cloth diapering is “too hard.”
To put this common cloth diapering myth to bed, Wels today announces that she is fighting back by launching a new campaign called “It’s Easy to Use Cloth Diapers.” Through this campaign, Wels sets out to educate disposable diaper-using parents about cloth diapering and to poke holes in any misconceptions they have about the practice today.
Wels says that during the months of January and February 2012, and while supplies last, more than 25 cloth diapering stores across the U.S. and online will be giving away a free copy of her award-winning book, “Changing Diapers, The Hip Mom’s Guide to Modern Cloth Diapering,” with any $15 cloth diaper purchase (A $17.95 retail value!). The purpose of this campaign, says Wels, is to more quickly bring the concept of modern cloth diapering to more parents everywhere.
In her book, Wels takes an “inside baseball” approach to explaining cloth diapering and its benefits to today’s modern families.
“I truly want to help parents understand that cloth diapering is nothing like it used to be. It has changed a lot and it’s really easy to do. My goal is to get more parents to give it a try and see for themselves,” says Wels. “As an advocate for the modern cloth diapering movement, I am proud to dedicate my time and resources to spreading positive messages about cloth diapering. ‘Changing Diapers‘ gives me the opportunity and platform to do just that.”
Wels adds her book also makes a fabulous gift for the mom-to-be – “especially when packaged with a fluffy, colorful cloth diaper beside it!” she adds.
Plus, Wels says that cloth diapers can be helpful to new families during difficult economic times, particularly during a recession. “Families can save $1,500 or more over the course of their baby’s diapering years, more for future babies sharing the same reusable diapers,” says Wels.
