Titan Awarded Five-Year Los Angeles Department of Transportation Contract
NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Titan, the largest Transit advertising company in North America, has renewed its exclusive contract to sell the advertising on the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s fleet of buses following an initial five-year partnership.
The new five-year contract, won competitively, follows an initial five-year term where Titan was the first to develop advertising in both traditional and innovative forms on the fleet of more than 350 transit vehicles, which operate over 800,000 revenue hours and service approximately 31 million passengers per year.
The contract was awarded unanimously by the Los Angeles City Council last week and begins February 1, 2012 giving Titan renewed rights to install various types of exterior and interior ads, including King Size Posters, Queen Size Posters, Taillight Displays, Full Wraps and Interior Car Cards.
This renewal maintains the company’s transit advertising presence in the Los Angeles and Orange County DMA. Combined with Titan’s other Transit Authority partnerships in the area: Long Beach Transit, The Santa Monica Transit sales representation agreement (both secured in 2009 by Titan), and the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA, awarded in 2010), Titan reaches more people in Southern California that any other Transit media sales company.
Titan’s Southern California business is run by industry veteran, Frank Sandusky. “After a competitive bidding process, Titan has again proven its ability to drive revenue. We even had a record-breaking 2011, generating $1.3 million in sales for the City,” said Don Allman, President and CEO of Titan.
