Shopping Resale Can Help Off-Set Rising Cost of Raising Children
PLANO, Texas, March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — According to a recent report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the cost of raising a child from birth to age 18 has risen nearly 40% in the last decade. This figure does not even include the price of going to college. Parents are looking for alternatives to traditional retail outlets to help their families make the most of every dollar. That’s where Divine Consign comes in. Divine Consign, the Metroplex’s longest-running children’s consignment event, saved families over $2 million dollars last year alone, by selling gently-used children’s items such as clothing, toys and baby equipment at 75-90% off retail prices.
At a Divine Consign event, shoppers have tens of thousands of carefully screened, high-quality items to choose from that are contributed by hundreds of families.
The Divine Consign sale in Plano will be Sunday, March 18th – Tuesday, March 20th and will include contributions from over 800 consignors for a total of 80,000 children’s and maternity items. There is a $2 entry fee per person, including children from 12pm-2pm on Sunday only. All entry fee proceeds will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation-North Texas (www.northtexas.wish.org).
