Park Invites Customers to Celebrate National Groundwater Awareness Week at Festival
DOWNEY, Calif., March 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Park Water Company (Park) recognizes the vital importance that groundwater and infrastructure have on customers. To promote groundwater awareness, Park will celebrate National Groundwater Awareness Week, March 11-17, 2012 at Water Replenishment District’s (WRD) annual groundwater festival.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, “More than 90% of all drinking water systems rely on groundwater to supply the population with drinking water.” Park’s customers are among millions of Americans who rely on groundwater from aquifers for this life essential resource.
“Public education on groundwater is vital to preserving water resources,” said Park General Manager Jeanne-Marie Bruno. “In order to help ensure a continued supply of water and the reliable infrastructure that supplies it to customers, we must reach-out and educate our customers on the vital importance of this resource and importance of continued investment.”
Park invites customers who share a common passion for the treasured resource to visit WRD’s Groundwater Festival called “Treasure Beneath Our Feet.” Park will have a booth at the festival on Saturday, March 17th from 10 AM to 2 PM at 4040 Paramount Blvd., Lakewood, CA. The festival provides no-cost food, games, and prizes.
According to WRD, last year’s event drew thousands of visitors including families, students, elected officials, and media. For more information, visit www.parkwater.com/events or call customer service at (800) 727-5987. Additional information can also be found at www.wrd.org.
