Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) March 15, 2012

10Rate reviewers and staff selected 10 of the best Vacuums for 2012, assigning each a numerical rating as well as awarding three models that stood out for quality, value, and budget. Suction performance was the primary consideration given in this Vacuum Cleaners Top 10 list, and other testing that affected the ratings were based on the following qualities:

1. Adjustable height for carpets of varying thickness

2. A brushroll that turns on and off easily for transitioning from carpet to hardwoods

3. Filters that don´t clog, are easily washed, and trap microscopic allergens

4. Easy-to-clean dirt canisters or bags

5. A light build that makes it easy to maneuver, swivel, and carry

6. Accessories like extendable wands, dusting brushes, and crevice tools that are easy to attach

7.Long cords

8. Relatively quiet operation

The annual Top 10 Best Vacuum Cleaners 2012 awards list was headed by the Hoover UH70120, winning the Best Quality spot and a rating of 9.0 out of 10. The review noted several strengths of the vacuum cleaner, calling it “so powerful it almost feels self-propelled.” 10rate’s review went on to mention, “This Hoover vacuum cleaner rolls and turns easily, is light and easy to carry with a built-in handle, and features a retractable cord. When you´re finished, just step on the foot pedal and the 27-foot cord zips back into place. We were amazed by how quietly this Hoover model runs and how it avoids spraying the carpet with dirt.”

10rate’s editors also gave the Best Value Vacuum Cleaner award to the Shark NV22L. With a rating of 8.5 out of 10, the review boasts, “This Shark upright vacuum cleaner works equally well on carpets and hardwoods. The hose stretches out generously and the extendable wand reaches 12 feet for great access to hard-to-reach areas. The dusting brush and crevice tools allow you to clean upholstery, shelves, and drapes. Special technology keeps the filter clear of dirt, providing a strong, consistent suction.”

Additionally, the Best Budget award from the Best Vacuum Cleaner Reviews went to the Eureka 166DX for which 10rate noted, “At just $24.96, this lightweight Eureka model is ideal for small homes or apartments. The cord is short at just 15 feet, and the vacuum head is narrow, but the suction is still more than adequate to pull up a great deal of hair and dust. The dust canister is easy to empty with little fuss. The handiest feature is that the vacuum quickly transforms into a handheld form, making it easy to clean upholstery, drapes, and even countertops.”

Hoover, Shark, and Dyson were featured for multiple models in the Comparison Vacuum Cleaner Ratings. Although the brand itself was only recognized for a single model, the Bissell 21K3 Review had this to say of its 8 out of 10 rating: “This Bissell gets the job done with 12 amps of suction power. The dirt cup is easy to remove and clean; however, its small size will require you to empty it frequently if you´re vacuuming the whole house. The accessories are handy for cleaning hard-to-reach areas like corners, drapes, and upholstery. The dusting brush is especially useful for sucking up dust on shelves and countertops.”
