Ellis, Ged & Bodden. P.A. Wins Near-Record $14.3 Million Judgment
BOCA RATON, Fla., March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — One of the largest jury awards for a non-fatal auto negligence case in Palm Beach County, Florida has been won by Boca Raton law firm, Ellis, Ged & Bodden.
Last week a Palm Beach County jury returned a $14.3 million judgment in favor of 59-year-old Fabio C. Noguera, a Boca Raton resident seriously injured in a February 2010 car accident.
Noguera sustained neck and back injuries that aggravated his diabetes and left him unable to work when the driver of a tractor-trailer moved into Noguera’s lane as he traveled south on Interstate 95. The collision, according to court testimony, caused Noguera’s car to rotate in front of the truck, dragging it the length of two football fields before coming to a stop.
“This is going to lead to advancement of his rheumatoid arthritis, with the potential for it to become debilitating in the future,” said Noguera’s attorney, Mark Packo of Ellis, Ged & Bodden. “That’s his real loss.”
The jury awarded $14.3 million in damages to Noguera for medical expenses and pain and suffering.
