Zoomingo Launches New iPhone App With Greater Personalization Through Gamification and Rewards
New ZoomSenseTM technology personalizes sales to shoppers´ preferences
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) April 05, 2012
Zoomingo, Inc. today announced the release of a new version of its iPhone application that includes greater personalization and a reward system that encourages users to rate, post and share the best local sales. Shoppers can now select their favorite stores to follow as well as rate Zoomingo discovered deals using an engaging Hot or Not game. Based on the user´s store preferences and ratings, Zoomingo´s new ZoomSenseTM technology displays more deals that match the user´s shopping preferences.
The new Zoomingo iPhone app now also includes a Weekly contest where users can compete to win an attractive prize. Users earn points for various activities including rating deals using the Hot or Not game, posting deals while at the mall and sharing attractive deals with their friends.
“Today shoppers have their choice of thousands of great deals but finding the right deal can quickly become a chore,” said Shirish Nadkarni, co-founder of Zoomingo. “With our new Hot or Not game, shoppers are already rating tens of thousands of deals thus training our ZoomSenseTM engine to present more deals matching their preferences.”
Zoomingo — a take on “Zoom-in-and-go” — offers shoppers instant access thousands of sale items from more than 70,000 local retail outlets and boutiques, delivering results in an easy-to-browse, easy-to-use format. Zoomingo also encourages shoppers to share their shopping discoveries with other members of the Zoomingo community — giving consumers even more information about sales in their area, and enhancing the app´s reach to smaller stores and boutiques
Zoomingo is available for immediate download in both the Apple AppStore and Google Play. For more information on Zoomingo, please visit us at http://www.Zoomingo.com, on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/Zoomingo, and on Twitter via @Zoomingo.
Zoomingo was co-founded by Krishnan Seshadrinathan and Shirish Nadkarni, who also co-founded Livemocha, the world´s largest language learning website with more than 12 million users. Nadkarni also founded mobile email pioneer TeamOn, which was acquired by RIM in 2002. Nadkarni left Livemocha in 2011 and had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with his wife — an avid shopper. The experience of going from one store to another in the mall to find interesting things on sale quickly became tedious. Often, his wife might find an item, but not buy it because she wasn´t sure if there was something similar that was cheaper in another store. As a self-described “typical male shopper,” Nadkarni found the process time-consuming and frustrating, and searched for an app to help. Price comparison apps weren´t always reliable, and retailer mobile apps were geared to making online purchases. Nadkarni knew there had to be a better way — and the idea of Zoomingo was born.
