USW Statement on Death of Mark Ayers, President, Building & Construction Trades Department, AFL-CIO

PITTSBURGH, April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Leo W. Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers (USW) issued the following statement today on the death yesterday of Mark Ayers, President of the Building and Construction Trades Department (BCTD), AFL-CIO:

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the untimely death of Mark Ayers. BCTD President Ayers has USW recognition for his leadership and commitment to the construction trades union members for whom he fought with a legacy of integrity during these challenging times.
