LS Direct Marketing Acquires HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press – Fastest Digital Sheetfed Press in Market
LS Direct Marketing is one of the first print service providers (PSPs) to acquire HP’s flagship model, known as the HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press. Introduced formally in mid-March 2012 by HP and enjoying its international debut at Drupa 2012 this week, it is said that the machine will take digital printing into the heart of the offset market.

As thousands of print and media professionals converge on Dusseldorf, Germany this week for Drupa 2012, the largest printing equipment exhibition in the world, a New York direct marketing company already has the presses rolling on the fastest digital sheetfed press on the market. LS Direct Marketing is one of the first print service providers (PSPs) to acquire HP’s flagship model, known as the HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press. Introduced formally in mid-March 2012 by HP and enjoying its international debut at Drupa 2012, it is said that the machine will take digital printing into the heart of the offset market.
“We’ve been pleased with our investment made years ago in the HP Indigo 7000 and are excited to upgrade to a press that will offer clients enhanced print quality, application versatility and cost savings,” states Jeff Horowitz, president of LS Direct Marketing. “Improving our process by 33% or 160 color pages per minute not only enhances our profitability, but allows us to shorten turn-around times and pass on cost savings to our customers.”
The HP Indigo 7600 was developed out of their 7000 and 7500 models, therefore HP intends nearly all of the new 7600 features to be available as field upgrades for both of these presses. The Enhanced Productivity Mode or EPM allows for printing four million color pages per month. According to Jeff Horowitz, “Variable data publishing (VDP) is at the heart of every solution LS Direct Marketing offers. The addition of this technology will enable us to produce over one million postcards per day on behalf of our clients and include special textured effects, like embossing, simultaneously.”
Readying for press arrival involved personnel training and some facility modifications. “Staff attended a comprehensive HP training course to understand functionality and improved processes. They learned about enhancements, such as the Automatic Alert Agent, which reduces operator intervention and allows for print defect identification in real time”, says Jeff Horowitz. “Some walls were moved and the ceiling raised slightly to accommodate the HP Indigo 7600, but it’s worth it.”
The HP Indigo 7600 Digital Press is marketed as the first HP Indigo press with carbon-neutral manufacturing.
