Matthews Marking Products Showcases Branding, Traceability Solutions at EastPack 2012
PHILADELPHIA, May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Matthews Marking Products will be showcasing a variety of marking and coding products for the packaging industry at EastPack, May 22 – 24 in Philadelphia. These products aid packagers with branding and traceability solutions for their products, from graphics and trademarks to date codes, batch numbers, and barcoding. Secondary and primary package marking solutions will be on display.
Secondary Package Marking
Matthews offers drop-on-demand and high resolution inkjet technologies for case marking. Drop-on-demand inkjet is used for simple 1- or 2-line printing and uses eco-friendly water-based inks. High resolution inkjet can produce several lines of print as well as large, crisp graphics. Branding on demand with the new Viacode platform enables packagers to reduce their costs associated with pre-printed boxes and labels.
Primary Package Marking
Because primary packaging comes in a variety of different shapes, sizes, and materials, Matthews offers a selection of unique technologies to suit the application. Laser coding offers fast, reliable small character marking for plastic and glass bottles. Thermal transfer can provide several lines of print, such as an ingredient list, and high resolution logos onto plastic films. Print a “best by” date or a lot code onto chipboard cartons with a simple and economical continuous inkjet printer.
