NYPD AW119 Fleet Achieve 20,000 Hour Milestone
PHILADELPHIA, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that the AW119 helicopter fleet operated by the New York Police Department is the worldwide law enforcement fleet leader, having achieved over 20,000 flying hours on the fleet and more than 6,000 on their fleet leader. New York Police Department is among the largest US law enforcement operators with four AW119 helicopters in service. New York Police Department’s first AW119 entered service in 2004.

During a presentation that AgustaWestland made to the New York Police Department recognizing their recent achievement, a representative from the Aviation Unit remarked that “We are pleased to accept this recognition from AgustaWestland on achieving 20,000 flight hours on our four AW119s since their introduction to service in 2004.”
The AW119 is the best in class single engine helicopter which delivers outstanding performance and productivity and is proving its abilities in the law enforcement and fire-fighting roles in many countries. Over 200 AW119 helicopters have been ordered to date in more than 30 countries by around 100 customers. The AW119Ke is ideally suited to perform a wide range of tasks including utility, fire-fighting, EMS, VIP/corporate transport, offshore transport, law enforcement and military duties.
