Finally! A Safe, Biodegradable Aluminum Brightener
WENDELL, N.C., July 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Fortrans Inc. announces a safe replacement for hydrofluoric acid and other acids used to brighten aluminum. Safe-Bright(TM) uses a new material that received the EPA P2 Pollution Prevention Award. Safe Bright(TM) is a new product that will deoxidize and brighten aluminum surfaces. The product is non-regulated by DOT. The product carries an HMIS code 1 (eye and skin irritant).
Safe-Bright(TM) replaces hazardous hydrofluoric acid and ammonium bifluoride products, which are a category 4, indicating the most severe risk, on the Hazardous Materials Information System product label code and these acids must be included on the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act.
Safe-Bright(TM) will not attack or etch glass and is safe to use on painted surfaces, chrome-plated hydraulic rams, plastic and rubber seals. Safe Bright contains no hydrochloric acid and does not produce corrosive fumes or vapors. Very low odor.
Safe-Bright(TM) will not dull or etch aluminum. The product is useful for removing hard water and acid rain staining from painted surfaces. These deposits and stains will shorten the life of painted surfaces and dull the finishes.
Safe-Bright(TM) is useful in the ready-mixed concrete industry, lime and cement transport, fuel tankers, automotive and marine industries and food manufacturing and distribution business. Safe Bright(TM) is being offered as a stand-alone product to brighten aluminum and in combination with the Fortrans concrete remover line of products to provide an aluminum brightener and concrete remover in one product.
Fortrans is a manufacturer of low-toxicity, biodegradable specialty chemicals and other environment- related products.
