Tweddle Group Releases Head Unit Update API for ‘Over the Air’ Updates to In-Vehicle Software Applications, Significantly Saving Time and Costs

Tier 1 suppliers and developers of head units can now apply Tweddle’s Head Unit Update API to enable the management, installation and update of in-vehicle software applications by the OEM and vehicle owner, anytime, anywhere.
With Tweddle’s Head Unit Update API, an application can be easily discovered, installed and updated “over the air,” without the need for a USB flash drive. The API supports most in-market head unit operating systems and application frameworks, making it easier to maintain multiple in-vehicle configurations from a single platform and with the flexibility to meet each OEM’s needs. Building on Tweddle’s capabilities of developing and enabling safe access to automotive-grade applications in the vehicle, the enhanced Tweddle Connect platform’s remote updates to the in-car system significantly decrease time and costs associated with services management for automakers and vehicle owners.
