TCU Introduces Inaugural Energy Certificate Programs

September 5, 2012

FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — TCU Energy Institute announces the launch of two certificate programs for energy industry professionals and royalty owners. This is the first program of its kind offering an advanced certificate from the TCU Energy Institute. By obtaining a certificate of completion, program graduates can accelerate the upward mobility of their career path and advance into senior management positions. Both certificate programs are offered in Houston and San Antonio starting Sept. 24.

Attorneys, financial advisors, consultants, engineers, geologists and other professionals who advise and support energy organizations and initiatives are welcome to apply. Applications are currently being accepted. For complete program details and to register online, visitwww.energyinstitute.tcu.edu.

Participants who enroll in one or both of the certificate programs will have the opportunity to network with industry peers in an encouraging and friendly environment, as well as learn critical management skills. Participants will receive a formal credential from the TCU Energy Institute upon completion of the programs.

“Many of our TCU graduates and corporate partners have requested the TCU Energy Institute to develop an advanced energy management certificate program,” said Ken Morgan, director of TCU Energy Institute.

The first program being offered is the Advanced Energy Management Certificate. It has been created for energy professionals who have mastered the basics and desire to further their careers and move into senior management positions and executive rank. This certificate is intended to cut the cycle time of development for mid-career managers and professionals who are ready to move up to the next level of responsibility.

The second program, the Royalty Owner Certificate is endorsed by the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO), and has been created to educate mineral owners, energy operators and other industry professionals about the basics of leasing minerals, managing mineral assets, lease negotiations and other agreements. This program is one of the only specialized programs in the nation that is specifically geared toward royalty owners.

Texas has more than one million royalty owners with the advent of new shale plays and breakthrough technologies. The Royalty Owner Certificate is designed to address how the legal system functions, emphasizes the importance of lease negotiation and informs participants of their rights and responsibilities.
