tED Magazine Names Southwire Company “Best Overall Supplier”
CARROLLTON, Ga., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — One of the leading trade publications in the electrical industry, the Electrical Distributor (tED), has named Southwire Company its “Best Overall Supplier,” while also recognizing three of Southwire’s marketing campaigns as “Best of the Best.”
In announcing Southwire’s Best Overall Supplier selection, an article in the August edition of tED proclaims that Southwire has a “legacy of achievement” and that “simplicity and customer productivity underscore Southwire’s renowned market approach.” The article notes that Southwire was started in 1950 by Roy Richards, fueled by his desire to deliver electricity to his grandmother’s rural Carroll County, Ga., home. Today, Southwire has 5,000 employees across North America and holds more than 450 patents.
“We are extremely proud that tED has selected Southwire Company for this honor,” said Rhonda Gauthreaux, Southwire Company Director of Marketing Communications. “Our goal is not only to supply products that transmit electricity effectively, but to also develop products that enhance jobsite efficiency and safety for electrical contractors. Having tED recognize the innovation and creativity of Southwire’s employees is confirmation of the great work our team does every day.”
The magazine selected three of Southwire’s marketing campaigns as “Best of the Best” award winners, saying they reflect the company’s commitment to “the creation of a simple, efficient, and quality experience for product installers and end-users.” The work selected includes the Southwire SIMpull Solutions(® )Blueprint for Productivity Brand Awareness Campaign; Southwire SIMpull Solutions(® )Blueprint for Productivity Print Ad Campaign; and the MC(AP® )Cable Grounded in Reliability Print Ad.
“Quite often people perceive electrical wire and cable as only a commodity,” said Rhonda Gauthreaux. “Our job in marketing is to bring the breakthrough innovations of our product developers to life in ways that show electrical distributors, contractors and end-users that there is a difference between a commodity and a value-added product or service and that Southwire offers a better solution to meet their needs.”
Southwire SIMpull Solutions(®) products and services have racked up a variety of industry awards from various sources that recognize the products as being a smarter, faster, safer and more efficient way to handle the wire installation process.
