September 15 Rocket Launch Postponed From Wallops Flight Facility

WALLOPS ISLAND, Va., Sept. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The launch of a Terrier-Lynx suborbital rocket scheduled September 15 for the Department of Defense from NASA’s launch range at the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia has been postponed.

A new launch date has not been determined.

The next launch from the Wallops Flight Facility is a NASA Terrier-Improved Malemute suborbital sounding rocket scheduled September 21. The rocket launch, postponed previously from August, will be carrying the RockSat-X educational payload.

This will be followed on September 22 with a test flight of a NASA Talos-Terrier-Oriole suborbital sounding rocket. The launch window for both missions is 7 to 10 a.m.

The launches may be seen in the Chesapeake Bay region.
