Phyre GOBIGGS(TM) System Selected For UH-60 BLACK HAWK Demonstration As Part Of AATD CTPD
EL CAJON, Calif., Sept. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Today Phyre Technologies, Inc. (“Phyre”) announced it has been selected by Sikorsky Aircraft, a unit of United Technologies Corporation, to build and demonstrate a Green On-Board Inert Gas Generating Systems (GOBIGGS(TM)) system for the UH-60 BLACK HAWK, as part of the AATD Combat Tempered Platform Demonstration (CTPD) program.
Phyre’s GOBIGGS(TM) is an environmentally friendly, catalytically based fuel tank inerting system designed to significantly reduce fuel tank vulnerability to explosion and thereby increase survivability of the UH-60 in forward operations.
Phyre’s Chief Executive Officer, Stuart Robertson commented, “We are honored by the trust that both Sikorsky Aircraft and AATD have put in GOBIGGS(TM) and Phyre. After our successful demonstration at NAWS China Lake last fall, this venture with Sikorsky is a natural next step in the maturation of GOBIGGS(TM).” “Over the past six-years, Phyre has invested substantial resources in the design and development of GOBIGGS(TM) as a next-generation fuel tank system, which will replace older and less efficient technology – for fuel tank inerting in both military and civilian aircraft.”
Phyre Technologies, Inc. is a privately held company based in El Cajon, CA. Phyre specializes in advanced research and development in aerospace and defense fluid systems. Alderman & Company® provides strategic advise to Phyre Technologies in regard to their GOBIGGS(TM) and PADS technologies.
