Who Prints All Those T-Shirts?
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Everywhere you look there are printed T-Shirts and you might think they all come from a huge factory in a foreign country. Not true according to T-Shirt printing expert, Scott Fresener, who is the co-author of the T-Shirt industry’s “bible” How To Print T-Shirt For Fun and Profit. “Printing T-Shirts is a fun full-time or part-time business with thousands of T-Shirt printers servicing local markets” Fresener says. “There are always festivals, events, businesses needing employee ID, car shows, bike shows, and of course schools who need printed T-Shirts. And, they want to buy locally” he adds.

Fresener should know the market. He got in the business in 1970 with his wife Pat. Their 256 page book has sold over 150,000 copies and been updated eight times since 1979. And, he has taught over 14,000 students from around the world at his screen printing classes. One thing he hears all the time from former students is a big “thank you for changing my life.” According to Fresener “some of the largest printers in the world started out with my book or one of my classes.” He is quick to add “it has been very rewarding to see people get into a profitable and easy business for just a few thousand dollars and build a great business.”
Fresener has recently released the 2012 version of How To Print T-Shirts For Fun and Profit as both a paperback book and as a tablet “iPad” version. He says “the 2012 version now includes special sections on the latest large graphics that print all over the shirt and special effects inks like glitter, puff ink, and foil. And, for those on a budget we have plans for making all the equipment.” The times are changing he says “we have included details about the newest in direct-to-garment printing where you inkjet directly onto a T-Shirt. Now with just the push of a button you can inkjet print a T-Shirt. It is a thing of beauty to see!” The book is available from Fresener’s popular industry website www.T-BizNetwork.com. His website has industry links, technical articles, over 100 garment printing YouTube videos, his blog and lots of information about printing T-shirts.
Along with the release of the updated book, Fresener is offering garment printing classes called Printers Boot Camp where in three days you will learn everything you need to know about setting up and running a profitable T-Shirt printing business. According to Fresener “this is a fun hands-on class where we start off with ‘this is a t-shirt’ and end with the students knowing all about making screens for screen printing T-Shirts, all about inks, how to print black T-Shirts with bright images, all about creating graphics on the computer, all about the business of garment printing and more.” He continues “this is the class that has changed the lives of thousands of students who want to own their own fun and profitable business.”
The Printers Boot Camp next class is in Nashville, Tennessee, November 9 – 11. The class is taught by Scott Fresener and his son, Mike, who is also considered an expert in the garment printing field. You can learn more about the classes and the Freseners at www.PrintersBootCamp.com.
So who prints all those shirts? Fresener states “They are often printed by local entrepreneurs who followed a dream of owning their own business. Many started off working out of their garage and then in no time have a storefront and hundreds of customers.” And, although profits are the main goal he adds “I hear a lot from former students that their kids lover to brag that ‘my parents print T-Shirts.’ It becomes a family affair.”
