“It is an honor to receive this award and to be associated with PVA as a sponsor of Mission: ABLE,” said John Walsh, VPG Chief Executive Officer. “As an American company, we remain committed to those who have served our country, and we hope that our support of this important campaign will help paralyzed veterans and their families find safe and secure transportation alternatives such as the MV-1.”

The PVA Americana Gala 2012, held at The Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., was a celebration of Mission: ABLE, a campaign that enlists all Americans to help paralyzed heroes fully live their lives and receive the care, benefits and jobs they deserve. VPG was among a group of corporations and individuals recognized for their extraordinary support of the program.

The MV-1 is the first vehicle purposely designed and built in support of wheelchair users. Manufactured in Mishawaka, Indiana, at AM General’s former Hummer facility, this vehicle is factory-built and offered direct to consumers with no conversion requirements needed to accommodate wheelchair accessibility.
