CONTROLTEC Opens Houghton, MI Satellite Office in MTEC SmartZone
ALLEN PARK, Mich., Oct. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Vehicle data acquisition and analysis software company CONTROLTEC is announcing the opening of a satellite office within the Michigan Technological University (MTEC) SmartZone in Houghton, MI. CONTROLTEC joins existing SmartZone companies such as Ford, GE Aviation and Dematic in engaging highly-talented Michigan Tech students on actual project work.
“MTEC SmartZone provides a great location and access to top talent at Michigan Tech,” said CONTROLTEC Vice President (and Michigan Tech alumnus) Bill Leisenring at the October 4(th) ribbon-cutting ceremony. “This new office strengthens our ability to grow, and helps us to continue to exceed the expectations of our expanding customer base.”
CONTROLTEC’s satellite location will initially employ four Michigan Tech students with experience in software development for the transportation industry. “These students were interns this past summer at CONTROLTEC’s headquarters in Allen Park, Michigan,” CONTROLTEC Human Resources Director Julie Glissman said. “They did a great job, and now we are simply thrilled to offer them part-time employment during the school year. It’s a great win-win: The students earn money and gain valuable real-world experience, and CONTROLTEC benefits from their intellects, energy and fresh perspectives.”
In welcoming CONTROLTEC to Houghton, MTEC SmartZone CEO Marilyn Clark said, “We are delighted that CONTROLTEC has recognized the benefits of establishing a presence in the SmartZone – benefits to their bottom line, to our students, and to our community through the addition of new, high-tech jobs.”
Established in 2009, CONTROLTEC is changing the Product Development landscape with its revolutionary vehicle data acquisition and analysis technologies.
