UL Warns of Counterfeit UL Mark on Nightlight
NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – UL is notifying consumers and retailers that the nightlight identified below bears a counterfeit UL Holographic Mark. The nightlight has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate Standards for Safety and it is unknown if the nightlight complies with any safety requirements.
The counterfeit nightlight is similar in construction to a nightlight that is authorized to bear the UL Mark. The nightlight that is authorized to bear the UL Mark is provided with the model number, electrical ratings, UL file number lamp replacement type and “Made in China” embossed on the enclosure. The counterfeit nightlight is not provided with any embossed markings.

Identification: On the product: The product bears counterfeit UL holographic Mark on the product and UL Mark on the packaging. The nightlight has a sticker marked “Made in China” on the side panel.
