Sunrise Senior Living Applauds Utility Companies Following Hurricane Sandy

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE: SRZ) would like to thank the Exelon Corporation including Constellation, PECO and BGE, as well as Con Edison, Public Service Electric and Gas Company, Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), Jersey Central Power & Light, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., Pepco and Dominion Virginia Power for their recent commitment to restore power in the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Sandy.

More than 90 Sunrise communities were impacted by the recent storm. With the support of regional and corporate teams, communities implemented emergency preparedness procedures including ensuring generators, food, and medications were available, as well as additional trained caregivers, nurses and facilities managers to support residents and team members before, during and after Hurricane Sandy.
