Morrison Hershfield Announces Appointment of Catherine Karakatsanis to Chief Operating Officer & Receives Engineering Medal for Management
TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – President and Chief Executive Officer of
Morrison Hershfield Group Inc., Anthony Karakatsanis, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Catherine Karakatsanis, M.E.Sc., P.Eng.,
FCAE, to Chief Operating Officer, responsible for company operations in
Canada and internationally. Catherine will provide business leadership,
oversee operations, and engage staff in a manner that leverages their
collective strengths. Catherine joined Morrison Hershfield in 1989,
and has been a member of the Board of Directors for 7 years.
Catherine’s dedication to best management practices and commitment to
the enrichment of the engineering profession have earned the respect of
her colleagues and her peers. She has actively volunteered in the
engineering community for over two decades, serving as President and
Chair of both Professional Engineers Ontario and the Ontario Society of
Professional Engineers. She is the current President of Engineers
Canada and a Board member of Engineers Without Borders.
In November 2012, Catherine was awarded with the with the Ontario
Professional Engineers’ Medal for Management. The esteemed award
recognizes professional engineers who have contributed significantly to
achieving excellence in engineering, primarily through their management
skills.
