North Georgia EMC Announces Early Completion Of Meter Deployment, Using Apex’s ProField® Software
HERNDON, Va., Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Today Apex CoVantage reported that their client, North Georgia EMC, has officially signed off on the meter deployment aspect of their contract, indicating successful installation of meters across NGEMC’s service territory. The announcement comes six months ahead of schedule, acknowledging a major achievement for partners Landis+Gyr, NGEMC and Apex, whose teams have worked with unprecedented cooperation, accuracy and diligence to ensure a fast, reliable and problem free transition to wireless meter technology.
Apex CoVantage’s advanced ProField(®) software was integral to the meter installation process. “With the help of Apex technicians and ProField,” says David Creekmore, Engineering and Technical Consultant at NGEMC, “we were able to address 30 years of maintenance in a matter of 30 weeks.”
ProField is best known for bringing the field into the office(TM) and Apex’s partners appreciate the software’s ability to streamline network management, document the meter transfer process, and test problem areas. “We are extremely pleased with this outcome and proud to deploy ProField on the NGEMC project where collaboration between NGEMC, Landis + Gyr, and Apex has highlighted the software’s most unique and powerful features,” comments Shashi Gupta, Apex CEO.
ProField, Smart Grid industry’s only integrated ERP system for mobile workforce management, covers the full spectrum of functionality including asset management, training and certification, remote management of field operations, fault-resistant workflows, and real-time reporting. ProField is ideal for electric, water and gas utilities rolling out Smart Grid deployments.
Working in conjunction with the specialized software, Apex crews were also recognized for bringing unique skills and unmatched professionalism to this endeavor. “The project demonstrates an enhanced ability to navigate the changes in production and geographical schedules due to utility needs or requirements,” says Apex project manager, Doug Corey. “Our crews assisted at critical junctures, enabling us to keep the project moving forward and to close ahead of schedule without a hitch.”
Jon Bruschi, Program Manager at Landis+Gyr is equally satisfied with the early success of the project, noting: “Every single meter that was shipped, delivered, installed or transferred to NGEMC was accounted for and reconciled, a testament to ProField’s robust inventory management system.”
