WALTHAM, Mass., March 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Ilios Dynamics Inc., a majority owned subsidiary of Tecogen Inc., today announced the sale of five Ilios High Efficiency Water Heaters for propane applications. Two of these units will be used for hydronic heating in a school and a hotel in the Republic of Ireland while the remaining three will be used for hydronic heating in US agricultural processes. The Ilios unit offers up to twice the efficiency and half the fuel consumption of a conventional gas boiler. Designed to run on either natural gas or propane, these units will be cutting propane heating expenses in half at these sites; significantly lowering operation costs.

With coefficient of performance (COP) of 1.2 to 2.2, the Ilios High efficiency Water Heater produces 400,000 to 600,000 BTU/hr of hot water. The Ilios High Efficiency Water Heater is an alternative to conventional systems at facilities with a gas demand of 2,000 therms per month or more.
