Major Oil Company to Deploy XetaWave Radios at 15,000 Sites in the Bakken Shale
XetaWave to Accelerate Growth of Its Business
BOULDER, Colo., April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — XetaWave, a Colorado-based wireless technology provider, announced today that a major oil company selected XetaWave to meet all of its wireless communication needs within the Bakken Shale. The company will be using XetaWave radios in three separate but overlaying wireless networks for mobile internet access, facilities management, and well head communications at 15,000 sites.
Installation is currently underway with an expected build out of the entire network by 2015.
In support of this significant commitment and other active opportunities, XetaWave is accelerating the growth of its business in personnel and infrastructure. Specifically, the company is expanding its production team and implementing its own in house manufacturing at its headquarters in Boulder, Colorado. XetaWave is currently manufacturing 150 radios per week and expects this rate to quintuple within 4 months.
Jonathan Sawyer, CEO of XetaWave said, “One important advantage of XetaWave is that our radio networks offer a much lower infrastructure cost based on a demonstrated coverage area that is four times that of existing wireless technology.”
Robert Campbell, chief operating officer of XetaWave commented, “This implementation will be a showcase for the flexibility and performance capabilities of the XetaWave technology platform. Through our unique Multi-Speed Multi-Point(TM) technology, XetaWave radios can be programmed to meet specific application needs, enabling the customer to design a communication network that optimizes performance and reliability.”
XetaWave is exhibiting at ENTELEC in Houston April 9-11, 2013.
