Each year, AWISCO sponsors an exhibition for about 60 of its partner vendors to showcase the latest in welding, cutting, safety and industrial technology. Lloyd Robinson, president of AWISCO, says the trade show, which will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, usually draws more than 1,000 attendees. Robinson said, “Our customers eagerly look forward to this day every year. Where else could they witness a smorgasbord of products and processes important to their businesses – all in one day?”
Steve Brady, distributor sales manager for Linde North America, said, “We are very excited about participating again this year in the AWISCO Trade Show. Year after year, the show provides Linde with an opportunity to meet face-to-face with a large number of companies in a broad spectrum of industries. This year, we’ll be highlighting the Linde Cryoclean Snow equipment which provides moisture-free cleaning that is residue and solvent free, without using harmful chemicals, making it environmentally friendly.”
Also expected to attend the trade show are welding students and staff from New York’s School of Cooperative Technical Education as well as apprentices from the Iron Workers Local 40 & 36 Joint Training Facility and Local 15 of the Plumbers Union. “AWISCO is committed to developing young welding talent and helping to fill the void in welding professionals that our country is experiencing,” said Robinson. “Working with local technical schools and supporting the AWS Foundation are just two of the ways that distributors can contribute to the next generation of welders who will also be the next generation of customers,” he said.
