Valley Motors Subaru of Hunt Valley Announces Donation Campaign for Erika Brannock Fund
– Hunt Valley Dealership Donates Portion of Subaru Sale Proceeds and Creates Community Donation Center –
BALTIMORE, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Erika Brannock is a 29-year-old Towson resident and well-respected pre-school teacher who was seriously injured in the bombing at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013. Today Valley Motors Subaru of Hunt Valley, in partnership with Subaru of America, Inc., has announced its pledge of support for the Erika Brannock Fund. The fund was created to help support Brannock, who lost a portion of her left leg and suffered severe damage to her right leg in the explosion, on her long road to recovery. The dealership has set a goal to raise $10,000 for the fund, as well as raise awareness of the cause in the local community.
Throughout the months of May and June, $100 will be donated for every new Subaru sold at Subaru of Hunt Valley. The dealership has also set up a donation area in the showroom, along with a special website to provide members of the community with an opportunity to join Valley Motors in showing support and help the dealership reach its goal. Donations can be made online directly at www.subaruofhuntvalley.com/the-erika-brannock-fund.htm.
“Erika has been a very meaningful member of our community, one that Valley Motors has been a part of for more than 50 years,” said Charles Fenwick, president of Valley Motors Auto Group. “We felt that it was important to develop a way to give back to the community and show our support for Erika, her family and her students while she is on a road to recovery and we are motivated to hit our goal of $10,000 by the end of June.”
“We are truly touched by the outpouring of support shown by our community,” said Scott Massengill of the Erika Brannock Fund. “For local businesses like Subaru of Hunt Valley to offer to help by doing what they do best–selling cars–it just goes to show the bond our community has and just how much of an impression Erika has made here.”
*The Erika Brannock Fund is currently not tax deductible. 100% of the proceeds collected go directly to the fund.
