Aerodyne Alloys Successfully Implements STRATIX Metal Industry ERP Software from Invera
Aerodyne Alloys, a high temp specialty alloys metal service center, and part of the O’Neal Industries group of companies, has implemented STRATIX, the metal service center software from Invera, a metal industry software specialist.

Aerodyne Alloys implemented a full complement of STRATIX ERP features such as on-line quote and sales order entry, metal and sawing price books, purchasing and receiving functions, real-time inventory average costing, shop floor receiving and production recording, outside processing, and on-line transport planning. Integrated financials functions for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger were also implemented.
One feature that was especially beneficial to the sales department was the on-line Order Status Inquiry, which allows sales staff to provide the status of the customer´s Sales Order at a single glance no matter where the order is being processed.
Sales also implemented the metal price book, which includes an extensive and flexible metal price database, enabling companies to set pricing levels, discounts, markups, product specific pricing remarks, as well as customer and quantity discounts based on product and class of customer. Aerodyne Alloys also set up the sawing tables, which assist salespeople in pricing quotes and orders for the saw cutting of material, a value-add process.

The implementation also included the STRATIXimage product to scan the Original Mill Certificate into STRATIX. This allows the certificate for a tag in inventory to be viewed from a stock inquiry, and automatically printed or emailed based on the customer profile at shipping time.
STRATIX also provided Aerodyne Alloys with a robust quality data profile for each inventory item with chemical results, mechanical tests, and metal specifications. This includes various checks that are performed throughout order fulfillment to ensure that the material being shipped to the customer is within their specification and quality requirements.
The production department is making full use of the on-line Production Planning functions to view the order to be picked or processed before releasing it for fulfillment. Aerodyne also implemented Production Scheduling in order to sequence and schedule their production jobs. As orders are fulfilled, warehouse personnel record production and print any item or package labels using the on-line work center lineup.
The shipping department can then see the orders to ship on-line and perform the load planning function. Aerodyne Alloys also implemented the WIFI wireless warehouse function to perform load verification once material has been loaded onto the truck. The load verification function ensures that only the correct material and quantity are loaded on the truck using barcode scanning.
Both the sales and production departments also benefited from the tight integration of the outside processing function with the rest of STRATIX. STRATIX does not differentiate between internal or outside processing, which renders outside processing more tightly integrated with fulfillment. As a result, separate purchase orders are not required for outside processing, which saves a tremendous amount of time for the purchasing and sales departments.
For processes like heat treatment, Aerodyne Alloys will receive a heat treat certificate from the outside processor, which is then scanned or attached into STRATIX, and, based on the customer´s certificate requirements, can automatically be printed or e-mailed at shipping time.
Don Pizzoferrato also added, “In the near future, we have plans to integrate Invera’s contact account manager (INVEX/CRM) and e-commerce capabilities for customer and vendor self support and inquiries. Aerodyne is now effectively managing four facilities and the ever challenging demands of our customers, suppliers and employees. The metal industry software STRATIX has now allowed us to lean out our processes, take advantage of developing technologies such as Tablet and Smart-Phone products, and we are now able to grow and meet our long—term strategies and plans.”
The implementation of the metals ERP software solution STRATIX included sales, purchasing, receiving, inventory management, multi-step production, production scheduling, delivery and logistics planning, invoicing, and financials.
