New Natural Gas Supplier Gives $5,000 to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Promises to Continue Giving In Line with Growth
NORWALK, Conn., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — North American Power, one of the nation’s fastest-growing retail energy suppliers, is proud to announce the company’s newest Mission to Millions partnership with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, in advance of the company’s service launch this August. The natural gas supplier presented Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with a check for $5,000 at their June pre-launch event, with a commitment to continue making donations as Georgia residents begin enrolling in the company’s cleangas product.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the “Best Children’s Hospitals” in the Nation, is one of the largest pediatric healthcare systems in the country. The system has a proven track record of providing world-class care to its patients in more than 30 pediatric specialties.
“Children’s serves patients from all 159 counties in the state, so kids from throughout Georgia will benefit from North American Power’s generosity,” said Lucy Klausner, senior development officer at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “At Children’s, we are dedicated to making kids better today and healthier tomorrow, and this support will help us fulfill that mission.”
North American Power’s Mission to Millions program puts the power to give in the hands of the customer by allowing them to direct company funds to the charity of their choice. To date, this highly successful one-to-one giving model has donated more than $500,000 to its charity partners across the nation. The program structure is simple. When customers switch to North American Power, they select their preferred non-profit organization from the list of featured charities, which will now include Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as the local option for Georgia residents. Every month that customer pays their energy bill North American Power will donate $1 on their behalf to their chosen charity.
“With Mission to Millions, North American Power customers can truly create substantial change in their community, simply by doing something they already have to do – pay their energy bill,” said Kerry Breitbart, Founder & CEO of North American Power. “Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta was an obvious choice as our newest charity partner because they provide critical care to their Georgia community.”
