VTI Enters the Embedded Computing Market with PXIe Instrument Grade Controller
IRVINE, Calif., July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — VTI Instruments is pleased to announce its entry into the Embedded Computing market with the release of the EMX-2401 PXIe embedded PC controller. The EMX-2401 uses dual-core Intel® Core(TM) i5-520E processor with Intel® Hyper-Threading(TM) Technology that enables execution of independent tasks simultaneously in a multi-tasking environment.
The EMX-2401 comes with various peripheral ports that allow it to be easily integrated into a hybrid test system. An ExpressCard/34 expansion slot allows users to connect an additional PXI Express mainframe to the controller using a PXIe to ExpressCard bridge. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports provide one port for LAN connection and the other for controlling LXI instruments, or PXIe instruments using VTI’s EMX-2500 controller. A Micro-D GPIB connector is available for legacy devices. Four USB 2.0 ports are available to connect keyboard, mouse, and other peripheral devices. An SMB bi-directional trigger connector on the front-panel can be used to route an external trigger signal to/from the PXI backplane for synchronization with other instruments.
The EMX-2401 comes with up to 8 GB SO-DIMM memory and can be purchased with Windows pre-installed. It has an extended operating temperature range of 0-55° C allowing it to be used in a wider range of applications.
