BluMetric Signs Exclusive Agreement to Represent LG Water and Wastewater Treatment Membranes in Canada

September 4, 2013

OTTAWA, Sept. 4, 2013 /CNW/ - BluMetric Environmental Inc. (TSXV: BLM) is pleased to announce that the
Company has signed an exclusive Agreement with LG Electronics (Seoul:
066570; London: LGLD) to represent the Korean multinational’s product
line of water and wastewater treatment membranes in Canada.

LG is a global leader in chemicals development & production, and brings
this state-of-the-art expertise to the manufacture of the most advanced
membrane technologies in the water industry.  Unlike almost all other
membrane manufacturers, LG is a world-renowned polymer chemistry center
of excellence.  LG’s membrane product line thus has significant
advantages over competitive treatment technologies, with superior
membrane integrity, permeability, and design flexibility as well as
reduced operating and maintenance costs.

“The up-front capital cost of water and wastewater treatment plants
represents a fraction of the operating cost over the 25-year lifecycle
of the facilities,” said Dan Scroggins, Chief Technology Officer. “In
an environment of increasingly tighter municipal budgets, BluMetric’s
ability to provide customers with LG’s membrane product line offers
significant operational and maintenance cost benefits.  In particular,
the LG membranes reduce the potential for fouling and lower the driving
force required for treatment.  This results in reduced energy
consumption and cleaning requirements, and makes BluMetric’s services
even more appealing.”

“This Agreement sets the stage for the commercialization of a range of
advanced water and wastewater treatment system product lines using LG
membranes,” said BluMetric CEO William (Bill) Touzel.  “This is a
ground-breaking global opportunity for the Company, enabling us to
introduce the next generation of Membrane Bioreactors (MBRs) for
wastewater treatment as well as launch a new and cost-effective product
line for drinking water systems.”

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with BluMetric and have
the Company represent our membrane product lines in Canada.  We look
forward to a rewarding business relationship with BluMetric, combining
their on-the-ground expertise with our leading membrane technologies,”
said James Hotchkies, Head of International Business Development for LG
Water Division.
