China’s Dream Building Showcased at New York’s Times Square
BEIJING, Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Times Square in New York City — “The Crossroads of the World” — at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue, hosts nearly 500,000 visitors daily and 40 million visitors annually.
Today, on the huge display screen overlooking the square, a large dream-like Chinese landscape painting was displayed with the consecutive subtitles: “Chinese Architecture Dream” and “Harmony Between Hill and Water.” The video clip shows visitors and passers-by a scenic, dream-like Chinese city.
“It’s a very beautiful building. It seems to be the first time that Chinese modern architecture has been shown on that screen,” said one New Yorker who was passing through Times Square and stopped to watch the screen for an extended period. “It’s like going into a Chinese dream,” he added.
“It’s certainly modern architecture, but with a strong Chinese flavor,” said another visitor to the square. In this visitor’s opinion, it is a very successful creation, as the building is clearly very modern but apparently quite different from the modern structures in New York. It has a distinct Chinese charm. “It is a great work of art that makes me feel a lot of innovative elements. It is absolutely a major breakthrough in modern architecture design.” The name of the building is displayed at the end of the clip – Smart Hero Central Park Plaza.
This green building designed by Chinese architect Ma Yansong integrates concepts of urban landscape with the harmony between man and nature, creating a green building complex using the language of modern design and providing a blueprint for China’s “Urban Dream.”
The Smart Hero Central Park Plaza project represents a further step towards the dream and fully embraces the upcoming era of the “China Dream” which China shares with the entire world.
Smart Hero Central Park Plaza, located in Beijing’s central business district and adjacent to the world’s second largest city park – Chaoyang Park, is designed as a green building complex that provides space suitable as headquarters for large corporations, front and back office accommodations for businesses, as well as residential and retail. We are embarking on a journey to “China’s Green Building Dream” in New York and looking forward to making the dream come true in Beijing, starting with Smart Hero Central Park Plaza.
