IA Interior Architects Opens Office in Charlotte, NC and Expands Leadership Team
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — IA Interior Architects (IA) is pleased to announce the opening of its Charlotte office and the appointment of its leadership team. The office is located at 201 South Tyron Street, Suite 950B, Charlotte, NC, 28202.
Sheri Ginett, NCIDQ (also Managing Director of IA’s Raleigh office) is leading the office. Charlotte-based Kristin Maier, Senior Design Leader, and Douglas Gigi, Project Director, have joined IA and will be part of the leadership team, as well.
“Two years ago, we started our Raleigh office and were excited to build IA’s presence in the Carolinas. Now with the addition of our Charlotte office we are completing our plan to grow within the region in order to best serve our clients,” said David Bourke, Executive Director.

Kristin Maier, IIDA, LEED AP ID + C, joins IA from Gensler, where she served as a Project Manager and Project Designer for workplace and professional service firm clients. She has a design service-oriented approach with her clients in the financial, legal, and energy industries, among others. An active member of IIDA’s Carolinas Chapter, Kristin has served as President and has held numerous positions within the organization. Kristin earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Interior Design from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification.
Douglas Gigi, NCARB, AIA, LEED AP, is a Registered Architect and project manager with over 15 years of experience in a variety of building types and projects including commercial, corporate office, retail, adaptive re-use, major renovation, federal, and industrial. He has proven to be successful in developing long-term client relationships by demonstrating his ability to innovate, educate, and provide the client with the best feasible solution for any project. Douglas earned his degree in Architecture from Ohio State University. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and holds a certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. Prior to joining IA, Douglas was Architect and Building Department Manager for ARCADIS.
