Purestream Services Deploys IGF Portable Water Treatment System in Oklahoma to Treat Oil and Gas Waste Water for Re-Use
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Purestream Services, a leader in the commercial water treatment industry, is proud to announce the latest deployment of their Induced Gas Flotation system. The IGF system is being deployed in Woods County, Oklahoma for one of the largest producers of oil and gas in the US to treat produced water and flow-back water for re-use in drilling operations.
The Purestream system uses Induced Gas Flotation (IGF) technology to economically remove oil and suspended solids in oil and gas wastewater for reuse. The mobile, self contained 2500 barrel per day IGF system is easily transported from site to site reducing disposal and sourcing costs for producers by allowing them to re-use existing produced or flow back water on demand.
“We are excited to work with producers to provide cost-effective water treatment processes that reduce the long distances required to haul water for sourcing and disposal,” stated Purestream CEO, Neil Richardson.
Treating wastewater nearer to the source of the production reduces the costs of processing the produced and frac flow-back water and minimizes the environmental impacts of hauling the wastewater long distances.
The IGF utilizes closed circuit re-circulation of both treated water and air to provide an oil/water/air interface for effective separation and oil removal. The system is outfitted with a standalone PLC system for easy operator control.
“The IGF technology provides a cost effective and mobile technology that gives producers on-demand treatment options for their existing operations below disposal and sourcing costs,” Richardson stated. “We are pleased to offer a product to the oil and gas industry that can help reduce their water management costs.”
Since 2008, Purestream Services has fostered a culture of continuous improvement by adding to its line of water treatment product offerings and services. Purestream Services is currently operating in the Marcellus Shale, Arkansas and Wyoming and will soon be operating in the Eagle Ford Shale and Texas Pan Handle.
